Andrew Lang Biography
Andrew Lang (1844-1912) was a Scottish literary critic, poet, and translator. He was born in Selkirk, Scotland and studied at the University of St. Andrews and Oxford University. He worked as a teacher and journalist before becoming a full-time writer. Lang is best known for his work as a literary critic, particularly his studies of the poetry of Robert Burns and William Shakespeare. He also wrote poetry and translated works from ancient Greek and Latin. Lang is also known for his fairy tale collections, such as "The Blue Fairy Book" and "The Red Fairy Book," which were published between 1889 and 1910. He died in London in 1912.
